The Socom: US Navy Seals Confrontation multiplayer beta on the PlayStation 3 launched several hours ago. The game has been getting good impressions and opinions...if only it was playable!

The servers are under tremondous stress at the moment. Joining a game is nearly impossible. Oh, and by the way: joining games in progress? If you're ready to brave that trail, which consists of a never ending load screen, go right ahead!

Overall, I'm impressed with the beta and most people who played it are too. Now, I braved 20 minute loading to bring you this video. Enjoy!

First day of a beta is usually bad, whats not to expect.

I got to play a couple matches after some patience. I really like the proximity chat. Even the enemy can hear you if you're too loud. The weapons feel good so far too.

The fighting is a shitload better than the previous games. I was wondering who was talking in the background, I thought my mic was off. After 10 tires of just logging in, I finally managed to get in a game (after the eternal loading) and then got stuck in the scoreboard when the game was over...enjoyed it while it lasted.

It's a Public Beta, but the only way to get into it is to pre-order the game from Gamespot and/or have been lucky to get some keys from Eurogamer which were gone within an hour or two (and they had a couple thousand to begin with).
