Locke Webster over at the UGO.com games blog sounds off on his co-op play through experience. One highlight includes his description of a battle with over 100 enemies on the screen at once... Sure, it isn't as impressive as seeing something like that for the first time in Kameo, but still, with bullets flying this game may be close to achieving epic levels of awesomeness.

I’m sure you can only imagine our excitement when we heard about the online co-op implemented in Resistance 2. Up to eight players can join forces to take on the Chimeran threat in an original story that parallels the events in the single player campaign. Select a class, level up weapons and armor as you gain experience, and coordinate your team into a brutal Chimera-killing machine.

Is it as good as it sounds? I recently had a chance to go hands-on with the Resistance 2 feature and I’ve got a batch of impressions right after the jump.

I just love the buzz around this game. It is getting a lot more attention that I had thought, and it deserves it too. Every preview praises it fully, so Im glad that this review takes a deeper look into the negatives. That being said, 2 of his negatives were really based on player mindset and opinion. Im seriously becoming extremely excited about this game. Awesome preview.

Definately deserves it. Resistance 1 was good, but not great, and Insomniac took to heart all of the constructive criticism (and even the non-constructive criticism) when making this game and it shows. Really want this to do well for them, and from the buzz and honest opinions from those that have had time to play it, R2 will ROCK! *crosses fingers* but don't hold me to that, lol...

Sounds like Resistance 2 is going to be better then the first.

The first third of the article sounded great, but I was a little disheartened when I saw that the other two thirds of the article were regarding so many flaws. I would really like R2's co-op campaign to be able to contend with Gears 2 and L4D, seeing as Insomniac are putting so much emphasis on it. I mean, it's really getting to about the time that we get an exclusive that can really compete with the competitors (outside of MGS4).
