After spending an initial 4-hours on a recently sent build of Fallout 3, UGO Gamesblog contributor, Locke Webster, sounds off on his initial impressions.

The wonderful thing about doing previews of Fallout 3 is that there’s seemingly no end to the new content that players can discover. Behind every rock, in every metal container, and under every stretch of post-nuclear Washington DC lies some new (though not always valuable) tidbit of content that waits expectantly for the player to stumble in its direction. Fallout 3 is shockingly--almost affrontingly--huge. And the whole game is all the more boggling when facts come to light like the recent one Rusty posted, informing us that yes, Fallout 3’s primary campaign can be conquered in a mere 75 minutes.

Oblivion was okay, never really hooked me in. I'm feeling the same will be true about this game as well.

Oblivion is so vast, even I haven't finished it yet. And I love it. However, this game isn't that much tempting me to buy it.

Not really Oblivion what you are getting here, you should check out Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 for the PC, or read up on the games here: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

Very different game than Oblivion, in terms of theme, activities, etc... only similarity is same game engine as Oblivion.

Torn between getting the 360 version or the PS3 version.

So long as this one won't get PS3 exclusive stuff, and has no online mode (shouldn't), I'll probably get the 360 version I suppose.

PC Version - it is what makes Oblivion better than the 360 and PS3 counterparts. The mods released are high quality and insane and added a ton of new gameplay features (like hacking off limbs), things like Flying Mounts, improved weather, an entire hunting gathering and creation system (trade crafts), new NPC ais including rival adventurers, the list goes on and on.

I dont think Fallout 3 will ship with dev tools like Oblivion did, but I am sure they are coming, and when it does, I'm making a cybernetic version of the original dogmeat! LOL, with the story to go with it.
