Another preview of Monster Hunter 3 for everyone, done by Jem Alexander of joystiq!
So what does it cover? Straight away it discusses the movement from the Playstation 3 to the Wii. Despite productions costs, you're assured this does not detract from the game as evidenced by "one of the sharpest Wii games we've seen" showing that the graphics certainly haven't decreased in quality.
It discusses the introduction of being able to swim in the water and take on undersea monsters. This is said to be a good enough incentive to buy the next sequel... is it?
Cheer for realistic death! That's right, kill a monster and you will be granted the the pleasure of watching it writhe and squirm and kick as it takes in its last dying breaths before it... dies!
You're also given the opportunity to play against your friends, not only in the same room but over the internet as well! This gives you a load of replay value, kill more monsters!
So what brings the game down?
Difficult controls are said to be a problem. Given the complexity, new people to the game will find it a challenge to master it. Spamming controls can work, but the real skills lie in the use of combo moves.
It's hoped to be a good seller in Japan and fingers crossed it does the same in the Western World.
