Games We Love but Wish We Could Love Playing

Computerandvideogames.com have recently previewed Resident Evil 5, and they answer some questions that fans may have been asking since the game's initial reveal. There will be alot of Wesker involvement in the plot - He won't just be a side-character again. And we can expect some pretty epic battles between him and Chris.
And for anyone who has been hoping that RE5 would go back to it's horror roots (or at least be a little more horror-esque than RE4), it won't. It's an Action game to the core.

As the camera zooms into a shadowy figure there's only one man it could be. Albert Wesker, it's good to see you again. We've known about Wesker and Spencer's involvement in Resi 5 for over a year; one a frail old man who created Umbrella, the other a resurrected villain with more in common with a supernatural being than any human. His stylish fights with Chris feature so many theatrics and ludicrous moves you'll swear the DMC4 and RE5 teams were trying to outdo each other in the cut-scene department. The OTT scraps can only mean one thing: Krauser-esque QTE knife battles are a given.
Thankfully, Capcom decided to unveil more revelations about RE5's seventh key chapter than just a few fights with the antagonist. Excella Gionne, the voluptuous lady who debuted in the last round of trailers, has aligned herself with the born-again god. It's a powerful allegiance given her position in the African arm of the new Umbrella, Tricell Pharmaceuticals.

If Leon's Spanish excursion wasn't enough to convince you of the series' jump from horror to action then Resident Evil 5 will beat you senseless with ammo, ammo and more ammo until you grudgingly accept the truth. Any horror roots have long been severed.

On another note, Degeneration also played a little role in wanting to play RE5 as well.
In the recent weeks my stance on this game has moved from hating the look of it to actually finding it interesting. Though i think this games "action" Achilles heel is that you cannot move while shooting, which was fine in the older games as there weren't 16 enemies on screen. In other games you'd be able to strafe backwards unloading rounds into the oncoming horde, in RE5 you stand still and in all sense and purpose that's not only unrealistic but old gen stuff.
So all in all this game will have to be absolutely incredible, no doubt it will pick up the review scores but i just don't think as an action game it will be overly spectacular. Horror is where they lie and with a name like Resident Evil i expect lots of scares not an ammo pile every 3 paces. Though one thing is for certain i will play this game though i will be very judgemental until it proves me wrong by being fun.
This also gives other game developers the chance to pick up the survival horror crown, and has once again left zombies up for grabs (a la Left 4 Dead).
I think it's cool that it's now an action game, though. I loved RE4, it was probably my favorite of the series so far.
However, I think it would've been more impressive if, instead of changing RE's genre, they managed to rejuvenate and "modernize" the Survival-Horror genre.
I mean, a lot of people got tired of the crappy camera angles, and the shooting(practically without aiming), sure, but I think they should have worked on that and kept things scary, slightly slow-paced, and ominous.
I don't think I'll like RE5, though, because the whole "ALWAYS Co-Op" thing is not something I'm into. I hate being tethered and forced to hold the hand of some AI. Although it would be pretty cool for online-play...
