OXCGN finds some nice info not on one game, but three heading to the 360 and PS3. The main one being a Triple A Shooter scheduled for a 2009 release according to the developers website.

Check out the in-engine shots and also a sneak piece of footage (most likely a trailer) So please slip over now and check the images, info and video out.

While digging around the various games in our OXCGN Games Listing for 2009/10, I stumbled upon this little gem from Volatile Games / Blitz Games on their home site under “Secret Projects” entitles Triple A Shooter for 2009.

Not so secret really. Sort of the secret that was a secret but isn’t . . . what we Australian’s like to call a Clayton’s Secret. The secret you have when you’re not having a secret . . .

It’s obviously a detective based first person perspective game based on the game engine footage shown in the clip. Showing a crime scene with an overlaid narrative of what “must have” taken place. The details looks fine and hopefully this is all in game engine footage of how the engine works.

Secret is spelled wrong in the title. What is a triple A shooter? If you beat the game, will you be called up to a major league shooter?

AAA basically means a certain amount of money has been spent to make the game. Like a blockbuster.

The crime scene trailer was pretty cool. It's weird listening to everything happen and not seeing what's going on besides the aftermath. Idk why, but that trailer made me think of Alan Wake for some reason, if only that game would come out already.

Hm . . . That crime scene game sounds interesting. I may very well have to check it out depending on how it is. I'm not a shooter fan, but if it's someone like a detective game or something, or if it has those elements to it, then I may have to get it! It's time for new types of games instead of shooter, shooters, and more shooters.

I think the combination of both stealth, a FPP and solid puzzel factor should prove a great way to open up the genre' to more possibilities for other developers. As they will see other games doing things which usually stimulates further advancement.

With regards to too many shooters, we really aren't over influxed with them. Sure, most games do have shooting as part of their gameplay, but there's a huge number of other games that come in many seem to forget.

If the game is based around war or fighting, then it will have guns of one sort or another in them, either FPP or TPP. However, there a huge number of sports games, platformers, fantasy genre' and the like out and coming out, it's just that each platform has it's strong and weak points, and attracts that audience.
