See how the RTS genre fairs on the Xbox 360 console, by heading to Halo Wars Demo Impressions.
With under a month before Halo Wars hits shelves all around the world many are hanging out to try the demo before considering buying the game. Normally anything with Halo on it would be a given to sell well, but with Halo Wars there is a sense of cautiousness from the gaming public.
This is because Halo Wars isnt a first person shooter (FPS) like previous Halo games, its a Real Time Strategy (RTS) game. Gamers know the RTS genres reputation on consoles. Very few have ever worked much less been successful.

NOt this game, just Halo in general.
If you put both games side by side and had non-biased players have a crack at both, I'd say many would find Stormrise quite challenging and deliver the goods as well.
Under Seige looks really original, in that it's going away from the common future-war theme.
Under Siege doesn't really interest me, i'm sick of the RTS's that go back to the olden times of catapults and crap.
What the hell is Stormrise anyway? I've never heard of it, should i of? =/
Taking the themes from an FPS and turning it into an RTS is not original or unique; it's simply a gameplay change. The concept of Halo itself isn't all that imaginative either, its just really fun.
There will always be references in each game.
