Kotaku recently got their hands on a 20 minute long demo for the upcoming Ghostbusters game, and they were impressed.
One thing to point out is that the gameplay is apparently like Gears of War...

It's hard to believe it has taken almost 25 years for someone to make a good Ghostbusters game. Thankfully, Atari came to the rescue and picked up this stranded title for us to finally enjoy.

I came away really impressed with Ghostbusters: The Video Game, even in this short 20 minute demo. It plays sorta similar to Gears of War – it even includes its own "rodie run." When you add solid, fun gameplay with terrific writing and voice acting, it usually means good things will happen.

I love how people compare X game to X game that just came out in the last couple of years. You know, Gears wasn't the first game evar!

But, on the flip side, I'm totally looking forward to this. I want to relive my childhood and cross the beams. Anyone else remember the Ghostbuster toys? The green slime = WIN.

Don't hold it against them. Unfortunately not everyone is as savvy a gamer as gamegreppers are, so having a mainstream point of comparison allows the non-hardcore to "get it". It really isn't to compare X to X, but to give a point of reference. So saying "GB plays like GOW" people can wrap their heads around it easier.

It's just unfortunate that some people take it literally and then you get all the trolls saying "It's just Gears but with ghosts and gouls". Same thing happened with Fallout 3
