Kratos didn't seem t look any better than in the VGA trailer. In fact his detail seemed to have dropped.

Well, there's about another year before release, that's plenty of time. The gameplay will be amazing, I'm sure.

I don't think the detail has dropped at all, the game looks so much better than the lackluster VGA trailer which was full of blurry and low quality textures.

I have both trailers on my PS3's HDD, and he just seems more gritty and crisp in the VGA trailer, whereas he looks more shiny and smudged in this one.

I agree with Black Label, when I compared the trailers HD I thought this one had superior detail to the VGA trailer.

What i am happy about is that the trailer really is in-game because that to me is impressive enough.

That's cause it is indeed an extended version of the VGA trailer.

Though it's not quite the same. They have done a good job of tying up some of the scenes both trailers share but this trailer seems to be taken from clips of the build the previwers saw on a week ago. The difference between the trailer and the game build is the cinematic camera and toned down gore as ESRB wern't happy with a trailer showing the level of violence the final game will have.

I read an interview with the director of the game, I think on hardcoregamers. He spoke about some of Kratos' new abilities, including that Spiderman like attack and running up the walls, a la Prince of Persia. He also said that with the power they now have, there will be no CGI in the game. All that said, the entire trailer was definitely gameplay, just with different camera angles. Any fan of the series noticed the combos immediately. As Blacklabel noted, it was most impressive to see the seamless transition from cinematic camera angles, right into actual gameplay. You could see it in the first combo Kratos does after running passed the Raven, and also when he ran up the wall and attacked the centaur.
