Two OXCGN reps were invited to a very intimate PR evening the other month with several other major online and print publications to get all up-close-n-personal with one of THQ - Yukes newest games, UFC - Undisputed. A game that is going to literally knock your socks off. You thought FightNight 3 was great, you simply have NOT seen anything yet!

Here’s Aaron Bertinetti’s accounts of how he sees the game shaping up. Many thanks again to Annabelle from Mango and Drew and Paul from THQ-Aust for inviting us along on ‘exceptionally short notice”. Not to mention all the support that was given us on the evening by the many other publications on hand to sample this excellent game.

Thanks guys for your incentives and desire to keep on going . . . But enough of my wobblings, let’s get on with the show . . . )

It's still one of my most vivid memories of the current generation of consoles. In 2006 I hadn't yet dropped my dollars on a system, but my mate had taken the leap, bought an extra controller and invited me over to play a boxing game.

If any game in those early months defined next gen for me, it was EA Chicago's Fight Night Round 3. The hulking boxers in cinematic combat; reflective lighting; beads of sweet; real time bruising; and the unmistakable crunch and blood that accompanied each KO defined my first steps into the ring of next gen gaming. Since then, nothing in the fighting sim genre has threatened to take the (Burger) King's crown!

Well everything's about to change, and not because Fight Night's sequel will be released later this year. Rather developer of the WWE Smackdown series Yukes, have with their own proprietary engine beaten EA to the punch... as well as the kick and grapple of ultimate fighting.

Check the video out, every pit of the fighting is in-game and non-scripted.

On the night, an Australian UFC champ was there and he was really worried about how the mechanics would go. Seeing that there are so many disiplines in each fight.

He was amazed and relieved all at the same time, he enjoyed himself a great deal with the game, although he did get beaten in the final against the media on the night . .

All were very close rounds and went for the full 3 rounds though, it was close . . .

You will be impressed by this, I hate fight games, but this has me hook-line-n-sinker . . .
