Electronic Theatre offers a hands-on preview of the surprisingly inventive Wii version of PDC World Championship Darts 2009 developed by Rebellion and due to be published by Oxygen Games next month.

Any preview of Rebellion’s Wii build would do the team a disservice should it not begin by explaining the game’s unique selling point: the translation of throwing a dart to the Wii Remote’s motion and pointer capabilities. Eschewing all previous attempts at bringing the sport to the console in favour of an entirely new throwing system, Rebellion’s effort builds upon the foundations established in the Bowling and Golf featured in Wii Sports
