Superheroes and video games ought to be a match made in geek heaven. Games let us vicariously do things that we can’t do in real life, and what could be a better candidate for wish-fulfilment than strutting around as a super-powered do-gooder? The problem is that most superhero games are mediocre at best, and lots of them simply suck. Video games usually involve a character overcoming significant obstacles, often through the use of force, and these mechanics often don’t work when playing as a dude who can kick criminals’ butts without working up a sweat.
