Anyone who pre-ordered inFamous for the Playstation 3 will know that your pre-order goody was in fact an Uncharted 2 beta code. Sebastian Maple of Resume Play gives us a definitive look into how the game plays out compared to other online shooters and what you can expect in the full thing.

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune is one of the best games currently available for the Playstation 3 platform, and its successor is looking to up the ante in every way possible.

Having pre-ordered inFAMOUS, I was among those who received an invite code for the Uncharted 2 multi-player beta. The beta opened up on June 2nd, following the impressive single-player demonstration at Sony’s press-conference at E3. Since that day, I’ve found myself repeatedly drawn back to the game, despite the lack of maps and game-types available in the beta, and I have to say, what I have seen so far is impressive.

Judging by how good Naughty Dog are as developers i wouldn't have expected any less. Though i can see reson for such articles after Insomniac Games crashed and burned with Resistance 2's online modes. What is interesting is how Sony are slowly showing their prowess as a console manufacturer with exclusive games that have a very good online modes. Though the impressive part is many of these games that have incredible online modes have an equally good single player. Congratulations are in order for Naughty Dog it seems.

Resistance 2 definitely didn't crash online. People are still playing it and I have a lot of fun whenever I go back to it.

Mind blowing? I think not. It's the PS3's Gears, but you fall through the map and get stuck more. I personally have been playing it; it's entertaining, don't get me wrong, but it's far from 'Mind-blowing.'

That's pretty much why it's a beta. That being said, the co-op and the competitive both are insanely good. They just need to work on the score system in Co-op, since it has the 3 players competing to get more kills than the other person...that kind of kills it for me.

I've been playing the beta and I've got to say its very good, with Co-op being a blast, wish i could play it with my friends rather than strangers but that'll be sorted out for the actual release. Anyway multiplayer is done extremely well, however its nothing ground breaking. The multiplayer seems to be more of an addition to the singleplayer
