KOEI isn't exactly one of those most-talked-about names at E3, especially this year. Best known for their long line of Dynasty Warriors games and spin-offs, KOEI hints that maybe they're trying something new... soon.

There's a bit of the old with Warriors Orochi 2 PSP, a few ports from Japan including the PlayStation 3 exclusive action RPG TRINITY: Souls of Zill O'll and Monster Racers, a DS / DSi exclusive.

Most people are pretty curious about that new IP of theirs, Warriors: Legends of Troy, being developed by (GASP) someone OTHER than Omega Force. Indeed, folks, this one's on KOEI Canada. KOEI's keeping their lips sealed about this Iliad-inspired tactical action game (or they just don't have much to show yet), but here's what we know (what they'll tell us)...

Like any other publisher / developer of notable renown, KOEI was present at this E3 2009, despite early announcements that they would be lowering their Japanese attendance due to the H1N1 scare. One of their more highly anticipated titles this year, Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires, was nowhere to be found, and few fans may have been hoping for an early sampling before its North American release later this month.

Still, KOEI brought with them four games, including a mysterious new IP being developed by KOEI Canada and a franchise that has never been released outside of Japan. Before we delve into each upcoming title individually, here's a highlight video some of you may remember from last week's show.
