Games We Love but Wish We Could Love Playing

James Walker's sat down with a game that you may think is just a Shrek-like children platformer at first glance. Fairytale Fights does as the name of the game states, have to do with fairytales, however it also runs on the Unreal Engine and has a "Volumetric Liquid System" (which is a thing the developers made so the game seems to be more blood gushing than other titles on the market).
Fairytale Fights takes inspiration from many different European fairy tales. The guys at Playlogic were very adament about the fact that they were all European fairy tales, too, so for the record: European. Fairy tales like “Little Red Riding Hood” and “Hansel & Grettle” are among the many, many tales that will be seen in Fairytale Fights — even if not all of them will be known by their name.
But of course, becoming a fairy tale hero for the ages isn’t just about killing bunnies and fat children, oh no. Throughout the game, as you kill aforementioned bunnies and fat children, you earn currency which you can use to buy new moves and abilities. You can also use them to buy statues and other tributes to your awesomeness that are displayed in the village, which works as the game’s hub. It was never made clear to us what importance buying a bronze statue of yourself is to the central game, but it’s nice to have.
