The Team at RatedG4Gamer headed down to THQ to test drive some new releases coming to the XBOX 360 and Playstation 3. One of the games on show was Darksiders. David from RatedG4Gamer gives us his run down.

Apart from what seems to be a great idea for a story, which takes an interesting modern vision of the biblical Apocalypse myth, the most important part of Darksiders was always going to be its combat. After all, if you don't get the combat right in a hack-and-slash game (or in most games for that matter), it really doesn't matter how good every other aspect is. Luckily, this game certainly left me with a great first impression of its action-packed combat mechanics. The controls feel natural and intuitive (though similar to most games of the genre), and allow you to easily hack through your enemies and watch in sadistic delight as their severed limbs and bloody carcasses cover the ground. You are also able to perform some savage finishing moves that will leave even the most bloodthirsty gamer satisfied and all warm and fuzzy on the inside.
