Electronic Theatre delivers a preview of Eidos Interactive and Avalanche Studios' forthcoming Just Cause 2, set for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

The most dramatic revision of the game’s formula comes in the form of the players’ equipment. The grappling hook – previously available only as a mechanism for transport – is now directly assigned to a Face Button, and can be used for tethering pretty much anything to pretty much anything else. In the numerous examples Electronic Theatre has seen thus far, a little imagination can go a long way to bring about comedic situations. Tethering an enemy to a moving vehicle and watching them fly as the slack runs-out is perhaps an obvious example, however attaching your grappling hook to a large truck while airborne and using it as a wrecking ball – sending flames sky-high as you charge it into a petrol garage – is an interesting take on the go-anywhere, do-anything destruction bought about by the Mercenaries series.
