It's been a while since the Gold and Silver remakes were released in Japan but IGN have got their hands on the games and have given a brief hands-on write-up of what the games are like. Read on to learn more about their early impressions.
I don't know about you guys, but I can't wait until Spring 2010 to get my hands on Pokemon HeartGold and Pokemon SoulSilver. In fact, I went ahead and imported a Japanese copy, just so I could get a head start. The Pokemon games are massive, so it'll be weeks before I could speak definitively on the experience, but I've got some early impressions to pass off.
My inability to read Japanese makes it hard to talk about the story, but luckily I remember how the original Gold and Silver played out. Also, every Pokemon game is exactly the same, so even if this was a brand new game I could stumble through it. Basically HeartGold and SoulSilver pick up shortly after the events of FireRed and LeafGreen, but in a different region. Team Rocket, having been defeated by a 10-year-old boy in Kanto, has moved to Johto to cut off Slowpoke tails and piss off Gyrados.
