This preview goes deep into Bayonetta battle system. The author of this preview explains how Bayoneeta has managed to deliver the best combat system in an action beat em up game, beating games such as God of War, Ninja Gaiden, and Devil May Cry.

From now on, when you talk about the best combat system in an action-beat em up game, you have to forget about God of War, Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry and every other game; that’s because Bayonetta actually has the most responsive, enjoyable, varied and frantic battle system around and I will explain why after the jump.

I don't think it is entirely fair to lump God of War and Ninja Gaiden in with this game. This is clearly going up against Devil May Cry it's the same style of game. God of War and Ninja Gaiden only share similarities in having a combo system. That is it you rarely get airtime where you can stay there hacking and slashing for 30 seconds, they are not the same.

It's kinda like Dante's Inferno can be compared to God of War and in the PS2/Xbox era Ninja Gaiden found comparison with it's long time rival Shinobi. Just because you hack and slash in all 4 does not mean they are all aiming to do it in the same style. So all in all nice to know Bayonetta is better than Devil May Cry as it certainly isn't better than God of War 3..

Couldn't have put it better myself.

Where the Bayonetta demo disappointed, the GOWIII demo has yet to get boring.

I haven't played the GOW3 demo, as much as I'd like to, so I can't speak for that. But The Bayonetta demo actually...annoyed me somehow.

And oddly enough, and I never thought it'd actually bother me, but the main characters body proportions and her stance bothers me too

I usually wouldn't wish death upon people. Things like this make me question my capacity for hatred.

Jeez, Sega are obviously paying someone, cause I hear a lot of sites talking up Bayonette a hell of a lot.

More boastful articles about this game, yet to be released, demo not all that impressive.

Not buying it for a second. This is the hype monster at work, and you'd do best to punch it in the mouth and give it a stern look while it's eyes well up with water.
