Come check out the detailed article on Rockstar San Diego's new western, Red Dead: Redemption. Not your everyday western either. This is a true sandbox game that is set to knock GTA off it's pedestal ... if gamers take it onboard as planned.

Click on the source link to check out the two takes on the game, videos and screens, you'll be quite surprised at what you'll find...

This is arguably the best sandbox game in the last decade, and the most involved storyline produced by Rockstar to-date. This is the game that the RAGE was built for. The engine was first considered for this game in the initial period of the 360/PS3's life span.

Games such as Rockstar's Table Tennis, GTA IV, and its following iterations, plus Midnight Club: Los Angeles were games used to basically test the game engine out, and fine tune it for the huge roll that lay ahead for Rockstar San Diego.

Red Dead Revolver was the game's predecessor, and about the only thing that remotely connecting the two is the 'Dead-Eye'-Targeting-System that will still be in use in the new game. Other than that, this game is completely new, from ground up.

It is not your everyday Western either. Most gamers think of Western games as something to simply pass the time away on in between 'decent games'. Not this one. This one will take GTAIV and shift it 180 degrees to the right, and then proceed to roll it over on its head and spit it back out again.

I've been looking forward to this since I first heard of it, and I've got to agree that I'm liking it more the more I see.

I just hope PS3 owners don't get shafted on DLC like we usually do.

From what I understand, both platforms are getting equal stuff via DLC, but don't hold me to that, just something I got from a few comments thrown around during our time at Rockstar looking over this.

It's one of those games you really have to be there and see foirst hand. Vids do not do it justice at all, and the world is exceptionally hard to explain.

I mean, while it was getting dark, at sunset, the sky just lit up with hues of red, yellow crimson, and went into the deep purples of night. Yet at other times, and other sunsets, you could see that the clouds covered the sky, changing the look and feel of the whole thing.

If you can see it off in the distance, say a mountain top or ridge, you can getto it, if you want to. There will be stuff randomily happening whether you're there or not, and you have to watch out for some asking for help, as they love to steal your horse when you hop off to help.

Luckily if it's your own horse, it responds well to a whistle, and will buck the thief off . .it's hillarious to watch the thief come off, then limp away in case your horse takes a shinning to kicking him.

It really will be something to look forward to.

Euphoriatic? Is that a word? If I liked Westerns more I think I'd be well into this, as it is it doesn't really do anything for me.
