Darksiders - Hands-On Preview (PlanetXbox360)

This is a hands-on preview of Darksiders from gaming website PlanetXbox360.com - the game is published by THQ and developed by Virgil Games; it comes out in January 2010.

Mythology and ancient lore have always been perfect backdrops for video games, especially the ones of action/adventure variety. Last week I got the chance to put some real hands-on time with the upcoming action game from mega-publisher THQ titled Darksiders, and what I walked away with was the thought as to why more entertainment sources up to this point have not dealt with the same storyline. The basis of the game revolves around the four horsemen and one of the favorite general plots of all time, the apocalypse.

    This game looks too much like God of War for my tastes.

    And by saying that it's like saying this game looks too much like Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry, God of War, and Dante's Inferno. Same game play.. different story.

      You've got to be kidding me. I mean really, do you say that a every video game you see? It's the same situation for pretty much every game that fits into a genre.

    It's just the problem that God Of War is the BEST hack'n'slash series there is. Like GTA to sandbox.
