How Activision can change its image

Thinking of buying the Assassin's Creed II DLC? Justin Haywald from 1UP offers his impressions, and wonders if the DLC was worth it (be wary, contains some spoilers).
When games reward me, I'm a completionist. I'll max out my characters in an RPG if that's the only way to beat the Platinum Manticore at the top of Victory Hope Tower and earn the all-powerful Whip of Destiny. I'll even make my character hop in place 500 times if that means I unlock some piddling trophy/achievement. But in a game where there's no real reward, where I'm right at the end, my pockets overflow with money, and my stats are all maxed, I'm probably going to be ok with just finishing up and not collecting every last Sparkle Star of Destiny.
That's how I felt at the end of Assassin's Creed 2. I completed every story mission, got every Trophy/Achievement the game offers. After that was done I still had a bunch of missions left to complete but no real compunction to finish them. That's not a complaint, it was comforting to know that if I ever wanted more game, there was plenty left to explore. But AC2 felt a little overlong anyway, and I'd had my fill well before the end -- not to say I wasn't eager to see the end, just that I probably didn't need to kill quite so many people to get there. By the final few assassinations, I assumed all the gratuitous killing would pay off somehow; maybe I'd collect all the bones of my fallen enemies to build some macabre weapon or a bridge to the final level.
