GameZone's Dakota Grabowski provides his hands-on impressions of Metro 2033 after sitting down with THQ at a recent press event. Impressions are mild, but there's hope with the title.

Our biggest concern with Metro 2033 was that there wasn’t enough ammo. Too many times Artyom would run out of ammunition. Once this happens, he’s forced to pull out his pocket knife that is the equivalent of a butter knife – enemies will fall after six or seven stabs, so be prepared to frustration when it comes to close range combat. With no melee button, Artyom is often left helpless as he battles dozens upon dozens of enemies.

      Yeah, you're right there.

Mostly they talk about problem areas with the game. Like it's a review. There's time to fix things like that.

From what I know Metro 2033 is a game based off a set of Russian novels about the fairly recently de-classified "city" of bunkers they built under Moscow during the cold war.

They do mention it could be a sleeper hit, which could well happen.
