Sacred 2: Fallen Angel is the sequel to the not so well known game, Sacred that was released in 2004. This game is heavily improved upon from the original 2D style game into a large new 3D world with impeccable attention to detail.

The game is currently slated for release on the PC and 360 in 2008.

And as a bonus for all you guys out there, the lead character has ended up well with the 3D upgrades. ;)

The reason we remember it at all, however, is because it was a very good Diablo clone, with some great character classes, free roaming environments which were a welcome departure from the linear nature of other games in the genre, and the ability to ride around and fight on horseback. The world remained distinctly un-combusted, but the game was impressively solid and enjoyable.

Can't say I rememberseeing a game called Sacred come out let alone even knowing it existed, but from the looks of those screenshots it's sequal isn't going to be anything amazing. A game I'll borrow/rent for a bit of fun and easy gamerscore, predicited it already.
