Fallout: New Vegas isn't coming out until October, but the lucky folks at Gamesradar got the chance to go hands on with it, and they have some info to share!

Included is a couple different mission types detailed, some locations info, updated melee combat description, and some details on how factions work.

Click to read the 3 pages of information and opinions garnered from actual hands-on time!

Fallout: New Vegas is set three years after Fallout 3, only this time, you’re a few thousand miles to the west. There’s no overlap with Fallout 3, no GTA Episodes self-referencing, because this isn’t the same city: New Vegas tells a whole new story on the other end of America. The location is less desolate, as the deserts of Nevada seemed like a waste of a good nuclear missile. As a result, we see Vault 21 converted into a leisure location, the elaborate structures of Vegas remain intact, and there’s enough electricity to waste on slot machines. There’s even a clear blue sky.

Fleshed out the game some for me. There should be at least some new information, namely those couple of missions mentioned.

I liked the one about the Dr. Sounds like it would be funny to do half assed, as they said in the article XD

Coincidentally enough, I bought FO1 in GOG.com and I've been having a lot of fun with it. Should keep me busy till I buy FO2....should be a nice way to catch up on the series.

Like Paradox said, it's an aquired taste at this point in time really. But for $6, I got the game, the soundtrack, the booklet in pdf. format, a guide, etc; pretty damn good deal.

Fallout and Fallout 2 were made ten years ago and has an isometric view and is turn-based. Fallout 2 is really fun and has an amazing story-line and every character is memorable. I prefer it more than Fallout 3 but if you're into graphics and FPS more the game isn't for you tbh.

You can pick Fallout Trilogy (1,2 and Tactics) for dirt cheap now. I can't wait for this, I think I need to get Fallout 3's DLC before this is released though. I pre-ordered btw. I hope UK get a bonus gift.

I don't think they've announced any bonus gift for the US/UK/Australia yet but Obsidian announced four special bonus packs for pre-ordering from certain places. There's a thread on it in the New Vegas forum somewhere.

Which? The steam version is the standard PC rate of $49.99. The Special Edition? I dunno, considering the extras it is probably $15+ more.
