I've written an in-depth article on the Blue Dragon demo that was recently released over the Xbox Live Marketplace. The article delves into various aspects of the game such as customizing your character's abilities and how the combat system works. I also took a bunch of screenshots of my actual gameplay to give gamers a better look at what to expect come August.

The two demo levels presented to you give you a good idea of what to expect from the game. Fortress provides you with the most boss battles and cinematics, and actually has quite a bit of spoilers which makes me wonder why they chose to use it in the demo. Ruins on the other hand, gives you no story at all and just gives you more to explore. The demo gives you a nice diverse bunch of enemies to fight. You’ll fight Zebra Poo Snakes, Blood-Sucking Beetles, Golden Scarabs, Glowering Imp Traps, Armored Fish, Steel-Crusher Leopards and more. The combat is nothing revolutionary, but it does provide some new additions to keep things more interesting, and Field Skills gives you the option of more strategies to use. I had to play this demo a ton to write this article, and the more I played it and learned, the more I enjoyed it. The demo doesn’t provide any real challenge, because as I mentioned before everyone is over-powered. The game provides you checkpoints before boss battles, so even if you do really suck, you don’t have to start from the very beginning. The demo was just meant to show you the basic mechanics of the game, and that it did well. Blue Dragon seems like it will be the RPG that Xbox 360 owners have been needing for a while.

A XBOX 360 RPG THAT LOOKS GOOD I'm partially jealous... but I still have my beloved FF series on my PS3

True, you'll just have to wait a lot longer, especially with the recent rumors stirring around . Whereas 360 owners can satisfy their cravings next month...

Yeah, I remember you saying you wanted to try it out but your brother had the hard drive full with videos or something. I had to clear some room myself just to download it, but they are things I can get back for free. I'll be purchasing a 120 gig hard drive in a couple of weeks.

You sure have a good memory. Yeah, I wish I had a few more gigs to get this. Perhaps I'll delete one that he hasn't played in a while. Great article, Vito. Convinced me to get it

I liked the demo. I'm not in love with it and other games are on my list so it's worth a rent. Was anybody else annoyed by the battle music, though? It kept on repeating itself during the boss battles.

Yeah, that is one of things I mentioned near the end of the article. They play the same damn rock song over and over. I wouldn't have such a problem with it if it weren't for the vocals. But you get to go through so many boss battles in a short period of time too. I hope they use other music, instead of that song for the normal boss battles and that more evil theme when you fight Nene.

The tune is starting to get stuck in my head "This is the beginning" :-(
