Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Eyes-on (Preview)

SSJ3 Trunks | July 24, 2007 | Previews | Playstation 3
IGN previews the newest Metal Gear Solid Game. IGN says the game looks amazing, and it's storyline is hella lot better the MGS2. A must-buy game for PS3.

Detailed textures (the streets are broken from the fighting and Snake has never looked as detailed); a first-person, Sixaxis mode; exploding vans; and much more was packed into this demo, but all this was only a small scratch of the surface of what Metal Gear Solid 4 has in store for its fans in 2008.
You're going to buy Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. You might have passed up Metal Gear Solid on the PlayStation, poo-poo'd Metal Gear Solid 2's wonky storyline and cringed at eating serpents in Metal Gear Solid 3, but you're going to buy Metal Gear Solid 4.

This game looks amazing.

Early this morning at Konami's Metal Gear 20th anniversary party, Hideo Kojima gave the world its first look at MGS4 gameplay, and the world is still stunned. In a 15-minute presentation, Kojima showed just a sampling of the gadgets and techniques Snake has at his disposal for his latest -- and supposedly final -- mission as earth's greatest soldier.

Yeah it's amazing, it's one of the best series ever. MGS2's storyline wasn't (poo poo) it was just really complex.

Anyway, MGS4 is the game for the PS3. It's a must buy

With the demo, it looks even more amazing then it did previously, if that's even possible ...
The world looks amazing - Snake is no longer following a set path, he can go any where he pleases and do anything he pleases, so long as he completes his objective.

I love how in-depth and free roam games these days are getting ^^

The game looked great but some things seemed pretty drab. I for one thought that pulling a trashcan out of nowhere was kind of lame, as well as Snake humping on some guy while putting him in a "sleeper hold." And is it just me, or are the enemies in this game complete morons? How can you not see a guy standing next to you that looks like the floor tiles?

Hopefully the enemies become a little smarter before the final release or it'll really hurt the overall enjoyment of the game. Well, for me at least.

This is looking like it is going to be something special and I can not wait to see more that the game has to offer. This will be the Ps3's best title when it comes out.

Do people have some serious sexual issues to deal with that they just keep bitching and bitching about the *bleep*ing humping?

And the drum, that's no new shit either, Snake has been magically materializing cardboard boxes from his inventory since Metal Gear and nobody has ever complained.

Snake's actually doing the "worm" to move easily without making noise. It's realistic and cool I think. I just don't like how it zooms up on his butt.

What MGS has to offer > GTA. Fact.
