Demon's Souls is so notoriously hard that there are some gamers out there who will just flat out refuse to play it. The "spiritual successor" to it has been announced as Dark Souls. What elements are they keeping and what elements are they doing away with?

What we're led to believe about Dark Souls is that it will take what works from Demon's Souls and ramp up the "go screw yourself" but doing so with a fun interesting amount of personal freedom. I personally can't wait to scream at the television while it kicks my ass in ways I didn't know where possible outside of a prison fight.

I am so happy that this is multi platform. I was getting so aggravated trying to explain to friends how difficult Demon's Souls is and none of them truly understood comparing it to Ninja Gaiden which is easy in comparison. I am glad they can finally buy it on their Xbox's and understand that the Demon's/Dark Souls series is brutal.

A'yup Demon's Souls is quite a hard game. It's not too bad for me but i've been playing games like it since I was 7. Thought it is VERY unforgiving, make a wrong move and consider yourself *bleep*ed.

Just for the record Dark Souls isn't the sequel to Demon Souls

Spiritual sequel.. Same gameplay, same art style, same hard enemies.. It may not be a true sequel but it's as much a sequel as we are probably ever going to get.

I hope they make multiplayer a bit better. At least add chat options.

Took a couple of buddies like 20 minutes to set up some coop and some asshole raided us and ruined it. I'm alright with hard ass enemies, but I got more frustrated battling the social system.
