GameZone's Vito Gesualdi previews Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games for the Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo 3DS from E3 2011. He discusses the Wii mechanics of the game, some of the sporting events you can do, and gameplay in general.

Again, this is obviously a game geared at a younger audience, though there’s still a lot to like. All the familiar characters are perfectly rendered and look to be having a blast. In addition, with events like the Ribbon and Equestrian events, there’s definitely a nod to bringing in some young female gamers, which is great. Overall, looks like a great party game for the Wii crowd.

I stopped buying party games a long time ago. That said, this looks pretty decent. I think I'll wait for Fortune Street to spark my interest in the genre once again, though.

It's amazing to me how well this franchise does. My parents bought one of the Olympic titles against my suggestion and wound up loving it. I guess it just hits their demographic perfectly, haha.
