Culdcept Saga is the second in a series of titles with a similar feel to that of Magic: The Gathering that puts players in the shoes of a single hero and goes on to mix in story-based cutscenes with card-based battle sequences. The real catch, and this applies to all card-based games, is that the battles aren't your traditional turn-based affairs. Your hero has a deck of cards in their possession at all times. That deck of cards contains everything from ghoulish monsters to maces that will up your creatures' attack points (represented by ST in Culdcept Saga) to spells that can impact the opposition's ability to traverse the board or fight effectively. Also unlike other card games is the fact that you'll need to attain a certain level of magic points in order to win. It's not about bringing your opposing hero's hit points to zero.
