Not much different here. You are going to see the same basic fighting style and earn the same thing. It may be easy for you to just let this one slide. There are a few new modes to play like, Hero's history, which takes into the ninjas childhood. You need to hit button combos to pull off more powerfull moves. It may or may not interest you, but if I were you, wait until the review.
Ultimate Contest replaces Ultimate Road in this version of the game but keeps the same free-roaming RPG feel while tossing in an on-screen radar that highlights points of interest and gives you an idea of where you are without having to pull up your map. The idea behind the mode is that a contest to prove who the ultimate fighter is has rolled into Hidden Leaf Village and you're charged with taking Naruto -- and a few of his playable friends -- to the top while keeping the bad guys down. You'll pick up crystals from the folks you defeat and in turn use the winnings to advance the story.
Fully prepared to satisfy your single-player mode thirst, Ultimate Ninja 3 also includes Hero's History -- which is basically a playable look back at the Naruto story. You'll play the battles that have defined the timeline from the Genin Training arc to the Sasuke Retrieval arc.
Delve a bit deeper into the modes you'll be brawling through, and you'll find the fighting system you know and love. You still get a big ol' health bar with a three-section chakra bar below it. You'll need to pull off movement and button combos to break out big moves such as Demon Flute attacks and the Charging Kick. Not in the mood for close-quarters combat? You can still hurl throwing stars and other items -- such as the brand new Kunai Rain -- like in the games before.
