Screens and more details for Squeenix's up and coming RPG The World Ends With You have arrived, courtesy of Gamespy's new preview. The game starts out pretty action-movie style, with the main character, teenager Neku, waking up in the middle of Shibuya, Tokyo, with no inclination as to how he got there or what is going on. The plot thickens when he receives a text message directing him to be at a certain location within one hour or he'll "face erasure." In the midst of this, fighting baddies, and forming an alliance with a girl named Shiki, you're soon told by an organization called The Reapers you have seven days, but as for what, you do not know. Check the screenshots.

Though we did have a few quibbles with the game, the gameplay and overarching story had us coming back for more. Whether or not the final product is worth the price of entry is anyone's guess at this point, but from what we've seen it's looking very promising.

Said it before, and I'll say it again: I prefer the Japanese title name, as well as the Japanese character names...Neck. xD

Squeenix must've changed the name because they didn't want people to think they were talking about body parts.

Actually they had to change it because someone else outside of Japan had the copyright to the name It's A Wonderful World. Kinda like when Dragon Quest first came to America, but had no choice but to change it Dragon Warrior.

New name doesn't bother me though, and the game looks funky. I'll keep an eye on it.
