It's the 8th of April, and as promised we've been given yet
another hands-on to the multiplayer mode on what could be the most awaited game of this Generation....
GTAIV.
Go to the source to read the hands-on preview, and click on the link above, to learn what was known previously...
Here's the details from the article:
- Multiplayer is accessed from the Single-Player Game via Niko's Cell Phone
- Has Support for upto 16 Players
- The world goes on as normal to you and your 15 friends whilst you play (the Peds, traffics, Cops and so on)
- Create your own Custom Online character (sorry no Niko to play online)
- Earn by experiance by collecting cash in multiplayer and raise from rank 0 to 10.
- Many different settings can be changed such as turning on/off Cops, making it rain etc...
- Crouch and the name above your head dissapears, if you use cover, then the name AND dot above your head disappear - i.e. your much harder to find ;)
- Just the same as the single-player game.
- Team Deathmatch, Cops N Crooks, Hangman's NOOSE & GTA Race ALL previewed and details given (no point summarising this, there's just too much to take in...)
Also be sure to check the Alternative Sources, since they're also other previews on the same thing, just from another sight focusing on another thing...
If Grand Theft Auto IV is anything like the previous iterations, it will offer a robust single-player experience, the kind that can last several hundred hours. That always worked well in the past, but Rockstar decided that wasn't enough this time around and added a sizable multiplayer component. Here's the challenge for Rockstar: create a multiplayer experience good enough to convince players to leave the single-player campaign for a little while. That's a tall task. After spending a day checking out four of the MP modes, Ign are pretty certain Rockstar's succeeded.

Excellent. Rankings are always a good thing in online games.
Can't *bleep*ing wait for this game.
Ah good. This way one can hide better. I assume you disappear from the radar as well? I'll so use guerrilla tactics to hunt my PSN buddies, MUAHAHAHAHA!
<_<
*hides gun*

Also, I KNEW (OK, not literally) Cops and Robbers would be an awesome match type
