A new horror title called Geemu no Nanatsu DS (The Game With No Name) is set for a July release in Japan. Judging by the screens, if they don't release it here, they'd be making a big mistake. What's with that screenshot in the top right corner though? Looks like something from an early Final Fantasy.

Apparently the title is based on an urban legend that says anyone who plays the game will die a week later; I wonder if the marketing team will be fired after this is released.

It has also been divulged that the title will mimic the Nintendo DS’ menu screen; sending you messages and unnerving you as your adventure progresses.

Yes and if that does happen, games will get even more spotlight that we don't need; Jack Thompson anyone?

WOW, can't say I really get into the whole "chain letter" type media that goes on these days. The movies like The Ring and such bore me more than anything, but the Japanese market eats this shit up!!

In theory, it's a good idea from a marketing point of view.
But since it's already been done in the Ring, the idea sucks.

The Game With No Name is being made by Squeenix. That's why there is a reference to Final Fantasy on the scan.
