Capcom have revealed that the third edition of the hit Pheonix Wright series will be released for the DS this Semptember in NA. This game will feature flash back chapters in which you play the part off Mia Fey as she defends Pheonix right in Court. Also expect to see familiar faces from previous games and the returning Psych-Lock system.

At the company's Gamer's Day in San Francisco this week, Capcom revealed that the third edition to its sleeper hit series Phoenix Wright will hit the Nintendo DS system in the US this September.

Titled Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations, this sequel will actually have chapters that flash back to Phoenix Wright's early years where he meets up with his buxom mentor Mia Fey. In fact, a portion of the game will put players in the role of Mia as she tries to defend Phoenix Wright in court. The game will explain much of the history behind the main characters of the previous two games in the series.

This sequel will bring back other familiar faces, including Maya Fey and Godot. The Psych-Lock system that was introduced in Phoenix Wright: Justice for All will make a return in this follow up, as well as the usual progression of the investigations and court phase that makes Phoenix Wright such a successful series for Capcom. Expect the same manga-style presentation of the other series, as well as the touch-screen interface and microphone support where you can interrupt proceedings with a hearty "Objection" and "Hold it!"

    The Phoenix Wright series REALLY interests me, but I haven't gotten around to buying the games yet. I will probably go buy the first or second one to go check out the series before this game is released. =)

    Ah, great. Hopefully, I'll get a DS by then, and I'll be able to buy it. I've been hearing about it for a while now, and it looks pretty good! ^^

    "OBJECTION!!!" Lol >_>.

    I haven't played any of the Phoenix Wright series, but I've read some reviews on the first two and I must say, I'm somewhat interested in this game now (even though it's not exactly my cup o' tea XD). I'll probably follow the news. Keep 'em coming ^^.

    Yeah, the only problem is that I think you have to check out the first two games to understand the storyline. I might just buy this one and be totally confused. I'm still deciding which way would be better. Tehe. ^^;

    Ah, perfect! I let my friend borrow my "Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney" and as I was searching for guides for him I found this bit of info too. I can't wait for it! But yeah, you should probably get the first 2 if you want to get this one. I mean you'll be able to pick up on the gameplay, but not so much the story...

    Gah I was beaten in making the profile for this. Just as I was about to submit it told me somebody else had just suggested it. News spreads fast...

    You don't have to play the previous games but it helps because there will be obvious references to previous games.

      I guess since it includes Flashbacks it will be easier to understand. Either way, this game seems like a definite buy. Tehe. ^-^

        Playing as Mia Fey is a new portion of the game's story I've never heard of. This is obviously adding something to the character backstory not seen in a previous game (certainly not in PW1 for sure).

          Yeah it should be fun trying to save Ace's ass. I wonder what he did to get himself into this situation...
