Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia Announced for DS with Screenshots

chautemoc | May 18, 2008 | Previews | DS
The Castlevania series is now set to make its third appearance on the Nintendo DS. Titled Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, the title will be released this fall and will feature an all-new battle system.
"We have always felt that the Castlevania franchise has been an excellent fit on Nintendo DS, and based on the popularity of the DS classics, Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin, our fans agree," said Anthony Crouts, VP of Marketing at Konami.

"We fully expect Order of Ecclesia to ignite the fan base once again as it combines the classic Castlevania gameplay with an all-new combat system and outdoor environments."

God damned Nintenwhores. Castlevania could do even better on the PSP and next gen systems. Limiting it to constant, under-powered Nintendo handheld systems only results in the stagnation of the series. As it's drowned in monotony, it's full potential pulls farther from realization, and Igarashi's to blame, yet again.

I've had an idea for a CV game based on multiple hunters, in the vein of Monster Hunter, for the next gen systems, taking the fight through the forest wilderness and caves of Transylvania, and eventual Castlevania to defeat Dracula. Similar to the way Capcom dished out Resident Evil Outbreak, sans the broken gameplay mechanics.

They're dropping the ball on this series, the same way they dropped the ball on Contra, which could have spearheaded Gears of War by years, but instead was limited to one last, extremely cheesy PS2 game (Neo Contra, facing the likes of 'Dog Contra' - and evil talking dog).

Dracula X Chronicles was on PSP, but that was just a remake. The DS games are all good imo.

Good, but I find they look almost identical to the GBA titles, which is depressing.

By that logic, MGS4 should look just like MGS2/3.

I beated it. If you thought the remake was hard, try living through the original.

I swear, CV needs to be an MMO. It could *bleep*ing work.

I'm still struggling with *bleep*ing Symphony of the Night in the inverted Castle and I've had this game since they released it on PSN. Been planning on buying Dracula X Chronicles for a while. It also seems that besides Simon, Richter and Alucard are two of the most known Hunters since they turned Castlevania into anime.
