"Maybe the gameplay was distracting me for all the wrong reasons but I found it hard to really give too much attention to the plot events that were running along. Something about empires invading and a rebellion and political struggles and a bunch of loveable rogues getting caught up in something that's much more than they expected. It's not exactly bad but we've been here so often and FFXII offers nothing to make it stand out."
Capcom is continuing their trend of rereleasing the same game over and over again, this time in celebration of Devil May Cry's tenth anniversary. This package includes the first three games as well as some bonus art and audio content.
Daav from NoobFeed.com fires up the still standing Playstation 2 and plays through that platform's edition of Saint Seiya: The Sanctuary. It's a great story that captures the series well, but the game underneath is minimal.
"The basic idea of the story is that three teenagers from an island are seperated across the universe when the world's about to get destroyed. But amidst the chaos, Riku disappears into the darkness, Sora gets the Keyblade out of it and Kairi just disappears in Sora's arms."
"GamingUnion: "Back in 2005, WipEout Pure was a core part of the PlayStation Portable's launch. It's something that Sony felt worked rather well and for that reason, we're looking at another Wipeout title for the launch of the PlayStation Vita. This time around it's called WipEout 2048 and it features the same hi-octane action that we've come to expect from the series, but that's not to say it offers a great deal more.""
"GamerNode's Brad Tramel writes:
Perhaps the most apparent of SSX’s strengths is its ability to provide consistent thrills and — for those who played previous iterations — a wickedly nostalgic atmosphere. Not since the PlayStation 2 era have I enjoyed a sports game so thoroughly, or landed jumps with the same huge smile on my face."
With the 3DS getting all these awesome titles and remakes it is really raising the bar. Making it harder and harder for the Vita to fight back. When the vita throws a jab the 3DS throws an uppercut. This time that uppercut is Tales of the abyss. A very very great story and one of my all time favorite games. Sure to be a must have for many people all around the world. Good luck Vita!
"Many a gamer can recite a pungent and winding tale of their experience with the Metal Gear franchise. I myself will never, ever, forget the mind freaking I received at the hands of Psycho Mantis nor will I ever really recover from the baking heat of the harrowing microwave corridor."
The forty-forth round of Articles of Excellence has seen a return to the games with Gryzor winning it out with his review of Resident Evil 4. Scoring it a decent 3.6/5, he describes it as a title neither great nor terrible, but a a good game that has its moment while both making some headway in the series and forgetting some of the previous elements of the Resident Evil formula.
"Ever fancied being a gangster, living the life of a gun wielding drug dealing maniac? Then chances are you have played a series called Grand Theft Auto. Cast across a variety of cities and places across the world, GTA was a series which always focused on being as free as possible and as a result became very controversial. Talk to somebody who hasn’t played the game but has heard of it and ask them what they think its about and they will probably say ,’isn’t it that game where you can beat a h..."
Saints Row The Third may be the perfect sandbox game from this generation of consoles. There is just so much to do that the average gamer could spend 40+ hrs in the game. Volition and THQ have done a great job. The game is fun, addicting, full of customization, and it doesn't take itself seriously. Hopefully Rockstar takes notes from Saints Row: The Third.
