A Rant On Bosses: Final Fantasy & Shank

GamingShogun reviews Too Human and rips it a new one, calling it out for its shoddy gameplay balancing, camera system, horrifically long death sequences. Too Human is a third-person actioner that has been in development for many years and was recently released for the Xbox 360 platform to generally mild reviews.
The talented guys at Silicon Knights are not a bunch of nuggets. They and their QA people (if there were any) should have noticed these glaring issues. Instead, we are treated to what is one of the most annoying games you will have played in the last five years. Its not only annoying because of its flaws, but because as a veteran gamer I can see what this game SHOULD have been. Silicon Knights completely dropped the ball on this one. Too Human is one of those titles which should be a balls to bone cash cow. You can see that there used to be some genius underneath the wonky elements but they just don't shine through. I believe Too Human will go down in gaming history as one of the worst disappointments since Daikatana.

Comments
The thing that makes Too Human so appealing though is the fact that you zig zag between wave after wave of enemy gathering loot and making your character more and more of a badass.
Too Human's storyline is actually a LOT better than I expected. I went in with low expectations but it's above average. Not to mention any fan of Norse mythology will find how SK crafted the gods pretty awesome.
Mass Effect is story driven. Too Human's focal point is the gameplay and loot system.
The game has hack n' slash gameplay but doesn't take advantage of tried and true hack n' slash controls. The game has gun gameplay but does not take advantage of shooter tried and true controls...I could go on. What it does do right is the things like the armors, weapons, runes, etc.
Nice try though.
Lair: 53 out of 100.
Haze: 55 out of 100
Too Human: 68 out of 100.
Theres bound to be a few more Too Human reviews though, so we'll see.
Watching NeoGAF vs. Dennis Dyack is funnier though.
