Yesterday, IGN reviewed Mega Man 9, giving it an impressive score of 8.6. They note that the developer, Inti Creates, went all out, adding in extra things like DLC and a ranking system for various time trails.

Mega Man 9 stays true to the old, retro days. The pixel font is there, as well as a really simple menu. What fans of the series really wanted was hard and fun gameplay and they got just that. With a high learning curve coupled with some very challenging robots, this game is sure to keep your attention.

"Mega Man 9 is exactly what hardcore gamers were hoping it would be, as Capcom has come out of the gate with a game that's full of nostalgia and fan service, but also one that truly does rival the best in the franchise's 8-bit roots."

What's up with Jewel Man? Was to to hard to just call him Jewel Woman to stop annoying Internet jokes?

I never got the whole 'Man' thing anyways Wouldn't it make more sense to call'em like Plug Robot, Jewel Robot, Galaxy Robot, etc.

Not a bad score tbh. Hopefully the gameplay for me is good.

I think the retro-remakes are cool -- but between the 2D updated of Bionic Commando Rearmed and this remake-exactly-the-same-way remake of Mega Man, I sort of favor the Bionic Commando route.

      Mega Man 9 isn't a remake though.
