Whity has made another review today, and its on the brand new Dead Space. Whity expresses that this game stands out in the horror genre, and while not without its faluts, is definatly a worthwhile purchase.(or at least a rental) Hopefully this game wont go under the radar for most gamers.

Final Score: 8.9

(Disclaimer: Video contains cursing and gorish scenes from the game)

Since when was games like this for the story?

Anyway solid score pretty much what I expected really. Not sure if I want to pick it up atm. I'll see, but most likely pick it up with bioshock when its cheaper.

Bioshock has an awesome storyline, and that fits into a similar genre.

I disagree, theres no horror, or survival in Bioshock. It maybe disturbing at times, but its definatly not horror.

Since when was games like this for the story?
Since games like Silent Hill 2 showed that there can be a heavy reliance and balance on both, and provide a deep immersive experience.

Operative words there is "can be". But that doesn't mean people play it for the story, which is what I was getting at.

I dunno why he compared Dead Space to Homecoming when SH doesn't even have a leg to stand on in the horror genre lately. That being said, I think the Obsidian Suit DLC kinda made the game a bit easier for me.

Storyline wise, yeah I'm almost done with the game and there's little to no storyline progression...which is good and bad, because the game focuses on the action and keeps the game fun...and makes it a lot easier when going through it again but it doesn't hold you in suspence for any plot twists and whatnot.

He compared them because they're both horror games, very diffrent, yes, but both in the same genre, plus he recently played it so its still fresh in his head I guess.

The prequel comic to Dead Space actually had a very good story and plot to it. Makes the game quite more interesting to play since you know what is the cause for everything in the ship and why is all that stuff happening. I hope the game at least has a good conclusion.

Yeah, the animated comics is what really drove me to buy the game in the first place. Though that's the sad part...the animated comics is pretty much as good as the storyline gets for the game. And the Downfall DVD is pretty much a low blow seeing as you have to BUY it separately.
