This is disappointing. Having watch the series develop over the years, I actually found myself liking the first next generation incarnation of the Blitz franchise w/ The League. Hearing about The League 2 got me psyched, but now some of my enthusiasm is gone after this brutal review. Don't get me wrong, I still may give this game a shot (read: rental) despite this review coming from one of my new channel editors.

When I was handed my copy of Midway’s Blitz: The League II to review this past week, we were talking about older, “arcade"-style football games from years gone by, particularly the underappreciated Jerry Glanville’s Pigskin Footbrawl, which was actually more medieval rugby than football. I joked that if Blitz were lousy enough I would spend my small amount of real estate here not to review the steaming turd but to give a retrospective on this forgotten gem. We all had a good chuckle and I went on my way, ready to give this arcade-style football game a try. So how was it?

Reviews seem all over the place for this one..I'll just have to rent it myself sometime I think. If I don't dig it there's always Backbreaker..

Yeah, I am def going to rent it, I like the first league and I'm pretty sure I will like 2... but with everything else out right now, this is such a low priority rental.
