SlapStic.com editor Matthew Curtis painstakingly goes over absolutely everything that gamers want to know before dropping their hard earned cash on Far Cry 2. Buckle up, kiddos, because this one is big.

The game world is nothing short of astounding. Far Cry 2 seamlessly transitions from tropical forests to the African savannah, and the map is one of the largest I’ve ever seen. And unlike games such as Oblivion and Fallout 3, you won’t find yourself running into new enemies and quests every 30 feet. The boredom of driving (because you can steal any car without fear of retribution) is counterbalanced by periodic guard posts containing angry men with guns, and the occasional faction member on the road, who will promptly hop out of his vehicle to shoot at you. Though this can result in greater times to reach desired locations (30 minutes if you’re unlucky) the effect is one that truly makes the world feel alive.
