Average score= 90/100

GamePro: 100: All told, this is a great debut for the Prince of Persia series on the PS3 and Xbox 360. [Jan 2009, p.74]

94: IGN UK: Ubisoft has delivered an incredibly polished, tremendously enjoyable and utterly lovable experience here. It takes all the best elements of previous franchise entries then expands and refines them to create an absolutely unforgettable adventure. It’s magical in every sense of the word.

90: GameDaily: The adventure ends sooner than expected (10-12 hours), but it's worth every breathtaking moment. This is one of 2008's best.

88: Game Informer: While the virtues of the control mechanics and gameplay are up for debate, the value of the presentation and production are not. A stirring orchestral score is the perfect accompaniment to the breathtaking environmental backdrops. Stop nearly anywhere in the game, and it looks like you’re staring at a still painting.

I've been a fan of the PoP games since the Sands of Time. Glad to hear it's getting rave reviews. I'm going to try my hardest to rent this game because I don't want to spend that much money on it. But I want to play it sooooo badly.

I want this game because of the Altair costume :3

I've never played any of the newer Prince Of Persia games but this one looks like a must buy for me.

The Altair costume and these review scores are giving me more and more reasons to buy. But I've got so many games to play right now it may take me awhile to get around to this one.

Wow that sentence went very wrong, Ok fixed it now.
Is it worth it to try and track down and buy the previous three games? If so do you know if the Xbox versions work for 360 or should I look for them for Gamecube? And wasn't there one for Wii and PSP?

The ones for the Wii and PSP are just remakes with minor additions.

I'd say its worth at least a try. You can find them pretty cheap nowadays. All three games are good. Especially the first. But you don't have to play them to enjoy this one seeing as its a completely different animal.

For Xbox? I think only the first one (sands of time) is available for Xbox. It should be compatiable with most 360's. But yeah, get that one if you can. Its pretty good.

Another damn acclaimed game. As if we didn't have enough of those already. Critics give 9/10's too easily...

that, or devs are finally getting a clue on how to make games, or maybe this game deserves it.

I laugh at this statement. If this was GTA4, everyone will be bashing it to no end claiming its not worth the score, but yet some how games like this deserves it?

Its a shame if the first statement was true LPF, people wouldn't have bashed GTA4. But as we see, its hardly the case. Same for some bashing MGS4 for being too long.

PoP Warrior within is the only game i played from the series, and one of my favorites. I will try this game, for curiosity's sake.

I've never played a PoP game, this will be my first. I only have a couple issues with it that I've seen/read about.
    • When I heard the Prince for the first time he sounded more...uh, well, not what I had in mind. I think Drake from Uncharted (PS3) as a character suited the voice of Nolan North better. Nolan just doesn't work for me as the prince.
    • 1 enemy per fight. Really? that's it? D: From the GameTrailers review it seems like every enemy is fairly easy if you just chain combos with Eleka.
    • Must replay a level to gain points to get more abilities. I shouldn't have to play through a level all over again just to get pretty shiny fairy dust, I should have been able to get that the first time around, or, at least enough that I could get an ability and if I wanted to "collect them all" then go back afterwards.

Other than that the cell shading style displayed here is pretty slick, I <3.

I did play the previous POP game when it came out. It was pretty good, but I hope this one is better.

I saw a commercial on it earlier today, it looked pretty sweet. I'll definitely give it a rental.

I agree with the 90, or actually I would personally give it a 92. Not much of a difference though. =o
