Killzone 2 appears to be living up to the hype so far, the first review score coming away very positive. OPM US according to this source (unfortunately in German) gave the game a score of 5/5, as well as reviewing several other games. It is a bare bones affair, but is at least an indicator of the quality of the title.

Killzone 2
5/5

Street Fighter IV
5/5
Persona 4
4.5/5
PES 2009
4.5/5
Shaun White Snowboarding
3.5/5
Sonic Unleashed
3/5
EndWar
3/5
Rise of the Argonauts
2.5/5

Yeah, I saw that review copies were sent out at least a week ago. Why are they waiting until late February to release the game? I guess fixing glitches in online multiplayer.

There actually probably balancing it/still beta testing it as well as fixing glitches (internally). Maybe touching up a few things, too. I just pre-ordered my copy of KZ2 today after confirming the awesomeness of it by watching several videos I had not seen before.

    The blood looks insane.

I'm not surprised, a Playstation magazine praising a playstation game. Even though I already pre-ordered this game, i'll wait for more reviews.

Why do they have to be biased towards a PS3 game just because they are a PS only mag? It's not like they are going to give every game a good review simply because it's on a Sony console.

The Aus OPM has the some of the most unbiased reviewers out there. They like what they like and dislike what they don't.They are such good reviewers that even if they have to review a game from a series they don't like, they are professional enough to not let their opinions stand in the way of the reviews. They aren't even afraid to praise a game on a competitors console.I've heard them mention that they love Gears of war.

Sorry I rather wait for Gamespot and IGN to rate this game. Not like it matter to me, as I said I already pre-ordered this game. OPM rating a Playstation game high is expected. It's like seeing OXM rating Halo Wars 10/10 and people saying "OMFG it's going to be amazing" yet alot of games from Xbox sites gets pretty big numbers usually. And FYI all reviewers are biased to some degree. It's just looking at the reviews and weeding out the biased shit which tells hows good the game is.

Sorry I need more then just OPM ratings on the game.

Well the Aus PS mag is THE place I go to for reviews as I agree with their scores 95% of the time.

Though I did heavily disagree with their Tomb Raider Underground review.

    SFIV got a 5/5, Killzone 2 got a 5/5. Thus by this I say
    Killzone 2 = SFIV.

But seriously, I hardly think SFIV is in the same league.

OPM UK aren't biased at all (Resistance/heavenly sword 7/10), I'm not sure about US.

Killzone 2 getting pushed back to February was a decision made by SCEE. Resistance 2 wasn't pushed back and made it out for Christmas. It was going to be one or the other.

the fact that its only 0.5 ahead of PES 2009 terrifies me.

I will await more reviews, though I'm confidant it'll be great.

Good news, but to be honest, given the time AND money invested into making Killzone II, I don't expect it to be anything less than superb.

If it's even a passable or good shooter it won't have been worth the wait. It has to be fantastic.

That's what I thought: with all the work and hype that's been put into this game, anything less than GOTY material will get this game ripped apart.

I'm glad it's a 5 but this is coming from the Playstation Magazine and it's a staple game for the PS3. Of course their gonna give it a 5 out of 5.

Everyone on Gamegrep best haul ass and play together.

A good review. A touch bias, but its good to see a 5/5.

Honestly dont think I have been this excited for a game since Final Fantasy X.
