Stephen Munn of aeropause.com reviews Mega Man 9, a recent addition to a very popular name. They gave it five out of five, expected much?

Mega Man 9 is the first episode in the original Mega Man series in more than a decade. It's a download-only game, and is available on all three of the home consoles for their equivalent of $10. What makes the game even more remarkable is Capcom's decision to produce the game in the style of the first six games. As a result, the gameplay would be right at home on a classic NES console in the mid 1980s.

Very good review. I totally agree with the sentiment that this is only a true "must-have" if you're a fan of the oldies, as it is very true to the style of MM 2 & 3. I'd actually like to hear the response/review from someone who has never played an old school MM game before, describing how they liked (or *gasp* disliked) playing 9.

I have never played a MM title, I could be that guy for you, but... I don't want to spend the money for something I might like :-P.

Haha fair enough, and that does bring up a good point - not many people who have never played a MM game are going to be willing to drop $10 to start with this one, I'd think, especially since 1, 2, and 3 are available on the Virtual Console for $5.

The game is ridiculously hard. I could only beat Galaxy Man, then I gave up.

That's because modern games have babied you up... Although even if they hadn't it'd still be a challenge!

Heh i forgot how tough classic gaming was untill i played it. I only beat the cement guy in it. Although i may be better at now since i have been playing the incredibly hard and unfair platformers recently.

somewhat babied you, but classic Mega Man games have ALWAYS been hard, even when they first came out.

Yeah, even for an old-schooler like myself, it took quite a while to get going. I had to try several different bosses before I found one I could beat, then managed to make my way through the different stages though a massive amount of trial and error.
