PlayStation Home: The good, the bad and the ugly. A perfect title for a small, yet in depth review of Playstation home beta, that covers the good bits, the bad bits, and the plain old ugly bits.

Sony finally made PlayStation Home available to the general gaming public late in 2008 to a fanfare of hype, but it's safe to say that it hasn't made quite the splash people expected it to. While it's still classified as a beta and so can't yet be judged as a final product (and it will evolve regularly over its lifespan), we're still free to point out what we like and don't like. So, following a plentiful vacation in Sony's free virtual world, we bring you VideoGamer.com's view on the service: The good, the bad and the ugly.

This is a wee bit late, isn't it?

Heh, I was thinking the same thing. I thought everyone already let out their frustrations with it back in December.

The unfortunate thing is, while I can understand those frustrations, this is one of those things that if continued to be supported by Sony could evolve and become better with time. I think the beta was bashed unfairly -

Yeah that may be true but Sony brought this on themselves. Home was due in full a long time ago. I was one of the original beta testers and I knew people would be disappointed back then. I don't think that will change any time soon.

I was really disappointed with the open beta. I bet home won't even leave beta stage.

Then you will lose your money. After the amount of cash poured in by Sony, the sponsors, Uncharted Room, Red Bull, EA Sports Room, FC2, I think Home has, as yet, untapped potential. Home will almost certainly leave, beta, they won't just abandon it.
