Blend Games' Editor Pete Haas writes up a review for Skate 2 and gives it some fair praise. The game apparently lacks proper tutorials and has some minor mission problems, but overall the review scores the game pretty high.
Games of Skate 2's difficulty aren't released very often these days and while it's a gratifying game to ultimately master, it can also be a frustrating, punishing experience. Better tutorials or difficulty level adjusters may have been enough to bridge the gap for casual gamers but unfortunately, this is a "one size fits all" effort.

Just because he rubbish at the game he's bad mouthing nearly every thing about it. Saying the security guards are pointless, having contacts too help you out isn't complex enough, and telling people that will fail challenges loads of times and finally do it by button mashing.
If i had read this review before i bought it it would have made me think twice about buying it, but this games had me hooked since i bought it. All the things he say are bad, add a lot of depth to the game rather than just constantly doing mission after mission.
One thing i do agree with is the difficulty. I started playing and it was pretty easy and then BAM, i get 2 challenges which are near impossible for me, i tried one like 30 times. I suppose i just have too get better.
All in all, i think this is a bad review as he slags the game off purely based on how bad he is at it. If your good at it (it doesn't take that long at all too get good) then you will love it.
theres a whole show on MTV about it (Rob and Big Black)
also, it adds a challenge to the game, instead of skating through anything you want.
