The newly released and much talked about Fallout 3 Anchorage DLC is out and now reviewed. While I keep reading on forums tiny impressions about how it feels like Goldeneye or what not, Eurogamer is the first I've seen to post a full (2 page) review and given this DLC a score.. and overall it doesn't seem so good. Full review at the source.

Operation Anchorage, then, through the simple fact that it is not as much fun as it the game it leeches upon, is not a resounding success. Of course, it could be argued that it's not supposed to feel like the full game and that all of my complaints are to do with its 'simulation' setting; but this is before we get round to the pricing. After all, 800 Microsoft Points (despite the best efforts of a turbulent economy) still comes in at the best part of seven quid. I played through the download, at my own pace and in no particular hurry, and completed it in a smidge over two and a half hours. Now, it's not up to me to decide what you can or cannot afford - you're the one that knows your secret internet banking code, not me. But I will say that if my girlfriend were ever to find out that I'd spent seven quid out of our joint account on 150 minutes of gameplay that I only half-enjoyed, she'd kick me in the face. She wouldn't even hesitate. This is why I shred the statements.

I must say, this DLC is brilliant for its cost, the guy who wrote the article was just expecting more, whilst this is only the first in three DLC's were the last one will expand upon the main game itself adding a new level cap and another ending.

Operation Anchorage is definitley worth a download and from what i've played so far, is very fun and interesting.

Btw, why is this article attached to the PS3 when the DLC is 360 / PC exclusive? :S

When you submit an article and type in the game name, you click a checkbox. It when automatically populates all the other checkboxes for the other systems. This is something I never think about when submitting an article, but it has come up before (I am not the only one who doesn't really notice this when submitting news though, happens to a lot of people).

I agree with FFF above! I completely forgot it was released last night (was too preoccupied with Afro) and i ended up blowing all live plans with friends once I saw it was available.

I am happy to say for those that have the PC version and are running mods; I have not encountered any conflicts or issues. I did (wisely) remove the level cap remover before I started playing, and it was a seemless transition.

Also the PC installation was a piece of cake and far easier and less troublesome (duh because of live for windows Dai) compaired to the days when Bethsoft handled PC DLC on their own - e.g. oblivion.

I'd still definately give it a shot. Some people expect too much from DLC's, and get dissapointed. I hope it's not the case with GTA IV: The Lost and Damned.

When your 3 pieces of DLC make the game $90, people expect to be blown away.
