It looks like another JRPG may have failed to break the mediocrity barrier this year. A scan has been uploaded of the Star Ocean IV: The Last Hope review in a Game Informer magazine, and overall it is not looking good. The game gets a average 7, with bad animations, irritating music, and bad translation serving as the primary downfalls. The graphics and combat are apparently quite good however, meaning some will no doubt be on the edge with this one, depending on what you like.

I'd rather not say that Tri-Ace games are destined to be an acquired taste, since I often enjoyed their RPGs for the battle systems much more than their stories. Not sure if that's really such a good thing to say when it comes to console RPGs, but I don't usually get bored grinding in Tri-Ace games at least! XD

I still can't get used to how the character designs translated into 3D though. If you're using anime character designs you may as well go the Vesperia route and try to make them retain the "look".

I'm just wondering why they've added Megaman as a playable character

This is why I don't understand reviewers. They loved the story, the combat, and the characters. Yet they knock it down to a 7/10 due to some cutscene screw ups and a slow beginning? Yes, shame on Tri-Ace for not making sure all the cutscenes are working. I just don't get it...
