Star Ocean: The Last Hope has gone down very well in Japan, but can it live up to the high standards set by other high profile jRPG's such as Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon?

An underappreciated solid RPG experience.
Really though, why can't anyone ever find decent voice acting for games like these? I feel like a complete fairy playing JRPGs when 99% of the characters are fetishes personified and all have 12-year-old squeaky voices. I'd want this game a lot more if I knew I wouldn't be regretting every cutscene.
Tales of Vesperia did a pretty decent job. There were the occasional awful ones, but otherwise, Tales proved to me that I enjoy a JRPG 100x more when I can tolerate the character's speaking.
Tales of Vesperia is an extraordinary RPG.
and LO was a completely different game, it was an uh, let's say "old school" rpg with an
outdatedold style battle system.. Star Ocean 4 is clearly a game appealing to a wider audience anyway. It probably will be an underappreciated solid RPG experience. I fail to see how any of what I say is nonsense. And I can compare them. They are both JRPG titles, on the Xbox360 console. Reviews are already in, and the scores resemble that of Lost Odyssey. Thats why I say it. Its my opinion, so it is not nonsense. It is perspective.
2) if the sales go like that it will become the best selling 360 game there. also, I don't see users giving that game bad reviews, or underappreciating it. so far, most people say it's great. (it's not out in Europe yet)
how does 1up's or some professional review make this game "underappreciated"? an underappreciated game is the one which underperformed in sales, or the one having low user reviews.. besides 8/10 is pretty good, perhaps it is what this game deserves? have you played it?
Sales does not equal appreciation of a title.
People can regret sales. People can misconceive gameplay mechanics and game stories. People may not have the time (40hr weeks, kids) to sit and fully comprehend what is on offer in a JRPG title. With the plethora of titles gracing our consoles this generation, will people have time to play these titles? And professional reviews do not account for the masses. We can continue that argument 6months down the track, when everyones sunk their teeth into the title.
And I havent played the game. Thats why I used the word "properly". It was an assumption. Lets just agree to disagree on this issue, to save us all from constant essay writing. I'm not saying your wrong, it is just we have differing perspectives on certain titles. Arguing for the sake of 2GG points for all the bullshit flung from each corner is pointless.
I respect your ideology on the industry. Having said that, I am open to be proven wrong. This is why the argument is pointless. I made an assumption. Thats evident. You pulled me up with some facts about sales. Fair enough.
But thats what it was. An assumption. I didn't prematurely ejactulate a concrete analysis on the titles offerings. I guessed. Again, I say this: I fail to see how my perspective/opinion/hypothesis on a JRPG title is nonsense.
